Everythings has shut down, the streets are empty and even getting groceries seems like a scene out of a dystopian novel. Your kids are at home the entire day and after you have catered to their every need you need time for yourself to do something that you enjoy. Or even after a long day of working remotely, you need to unwind and relax. Weekends especially can be tough when there is nowhere to go and nothing to do. So, what to do? How to pass way the time? 1. Learn A Foreign Language:
If this is the beginning of an apocalyptic future speaking a foreign language would be very handy. There are many apps that you can download which will teach you a new language for free. The most popular and sought after app being Duolingo of course.Â
2. Learn A New Skill:
While we are talking about learning new things why not go back to school and learn more about a topic that interests you. You can try learning calligraphy, photo editing with photoshop or even some topics like art history or criminal psychology. The world is your oyster. Websites like Coursera, Udemy, and Edx.org are providing all of these courses and many more for absolutely free. It is time to learn all the things that you have proclaimed to know in your resume.Â
3. Cook Up A Storm:
Missing your favorite restaurant or even a fast-food chain? Quarantining may have made it difficult to go out and eat but that doesn’t mean you have to deprive yourself of tasty treats. This is the best time to broaden your culinary skills and taste palette. Sure if you are a beginner you will burn some stuff and maybe mistake sugar for salt but by then end you might even become a master chef.Â
4. Do An Indoor Work Out:
If you have put off going to the gym for a long time but have always wished to have a fit body, this is a golden chance for you to catch up on your gym routine. Just put on a youtube video tutorial of an indoor workout and you are all set. You can even choose to do Zumba if you want. Working out is a good way to stay in shape and you get your dose of endorphins out if it! So get your summer body ready.
5. Meditate:
Meditation is fairly easy and does not require much physical exertion on your part. All you have to do is lie down with your eyes closed, palms facing upwards and focus on your breathing. I am sure that you have a long list of shows and movies in your watchlist that you have wanted to see for the longest of times and just didn’t have the time. When you are an adult catching up with friends is making vague plans about hanging out but never following through and then the cycle repeats. Zoom parties are also trending now so you can throw an awesome social distancing qualified Zoom party.Â

They are not just for kids. Adult coloring books are all the rage right now and they are perfectly therapeutic and calming in their way. Plus now you know to stay within the lines.Â
9. Clean and Organise:
With all this free time in your hand, it is the perfect time to do Diwali level cleaning and organizing. Pick up all the stuff that is lying around your house and decide if it sparks joy or not Marie Kondo style. You can even get digitally clean by finally deleting all those WhatsApp good mornings forwards from various relatives and spam photos and videos from your phone gallery.Â
